March (part 2)

Regina's post bath hair before it was tamed

our new double camera video monitor!

We had been wanting a video monitor since forever (...well at least since Lucia was born) and we finally got one! It took Christmas money from Fernando's grandparents and my grandma and other money from family friends that had been given to both Lucia and Regina to have enough to be able to afford this thing! We didn't want to buy some cheapo monitor that didn't work that great and died after a year of use, so we splurged and bought a veeeeery nice one that will hopefully last us many years and many more children.
A video monitor is definitely one of those things that once you have one you say, "how did we EVER live without one?!" Which is of course very dramatic and we could indeed live without it even now... however, it is very nice to have!
ML brought this DVD over to me, put it on my lap and without knowing that I was taking a picture or even paying attention for that matter, she made this face! I almost died! I was so happy I had my phone with me and could snap a picture right then. It never works to have kids reenact these kinds of things after the fact...

SPRING! Glorious SPRING!
These trees get me every year! It is a shame they only look like this for a few weeks a year.
I have been working on this "gallery wall" thing for at least a year now and I am just now getting it how I want it. It has taken many redos and holes in the wall to look like this and it STILL isn't done. I need to add a few things to the wall and of course put pictures in some of the frames.

Probably looking for Owen...
Owen is one of the neighbor boys across the street. ML is OBSESSED! She talks about him all day every day and it is her goto topic of conversation if she can't think of anything else to say. In the car- Owen, in the grocery store- Owen, on a walk- Owen, at the park- Owen.
Owen, Owen, Owen!

Jennifer Fulwiler and I
At the end of March I went to a Catholic conference in our area called Ignited by Truth. It is a fantastic conference that we try to make it to every year. This year Fernando had to work so he met me there, then it hadn't even been 10 minutes and he got paged from work and had to leave... such is the life of a Medical Resident...
Anyway, this year some of the speakers included Scott Hahn and Jennifer Fulwiler (pictured above!). They were both great! Jennifer blogs over at Conversion Diary and if you haven't checked out her blog, I would highly recommend it! She is a convert to Catholicism from Atheism and has a book coming out at the end of April called Something Other Than God. I have already preordered it! :)
She got the title of her book from this quote from the C.S. Lewis book Mere Christianity
“And out of that hopeless attempt has come nearly all that we call human history—money, poverty, ambition, war, prostitution, classes, empires, slavery—the long terrible story of man trying to find something other than God which will make him happy.”

March (part 1)

In the month of March...

I finally got around to taking Regina's 4 month photos even though she turned 4 months in February and she was closer to 5 months than 4 months in this picture...and I never actually took her 5 month picture so this counts at both... run on sentence what?

4 months and 3 weeks to be exact

tried to get some of ML too but she is IMPOSSIBLE to photograph

it snowed for the third and final time this winter in March, it wasn't much but enough to dust the ground and stick there for a day or two
see the ♡?

I took the girls to Mass on Ash wednesday (FIRST TIME by myself with both of them at Mass!)
I went to a parish that has a great cry room so I just stayed in there the entire Mass (except for receiving the ashes and the Eucharist). I was not adventurous enough to leave the confines of that room otherwise. We don't use a cry room at Mass on Sundays but we are usually in a man to man defense, switching to zone was a whole differnet game.

helpful Lucia // 1

Now that Maria Lucia is a big sister, she has become extra helpful!

Here are some of the ways she "helps" :
 putting on Regina's hat
taking off Regina's pajamas (even though no one asked her to do so)
push the cart at Trader Joe's
putting the cart away at Kroger
teaching Regina the sign of the cross
"in the name of the Father"
"clipping" her own toes nails
putting every single toy in her toy basket on or near Regina
can you find the baby?

video
Maria Lucia brought her toy basket even closer to make sure every single toy was within Regina's reach.

Maria Lucia found an image of Our Lady and the child Jesus on my desk and she picked it up kissed them and then said a prayer!

25th Birthday

In February I turned 25! My birthday landed on a Sunday this year which meant Fernando had the day off! On Saturday we went out to dinner with my in-laws at a new restaurant called Zinburger. Fernando and I like share things when we go out to eat so that night we split the Kobe burger, the Double Truffle Fries and the Salted Caramel Shake. This was our first time going to Zinburger and we enjoyed it so much that we will definitely be returning!

At Zinburger
On Sunday we went to Mass at our Parish and then met my in-laws at the Refectory Cafe. After having brunch we sent Lucia home with them to take a nap and Fernando and I (and Regina) met up with some friends of Fernando's that were in town for the weekend.

(Regina's hair is crazy and Maria Lucia is making a funny face, but we'll take what we can get!)
I couldn't feel more blessed! At 18 I met my future husband, at 19 we became friends, at 20 we started dating, at 21 we got engaged, at 22 we got married, at 23 we had our first baby and at 24 we had our second baby. Let's see what 25 brings!
Thanks be to God!
